HDFC Bank partners LEAF to offer financial accessibility to farmers

Private sector lender HDFC Bank announced a partnership with integrated full-stack agriculture technology solutions provider Lawrencedale Agro Processing India (LEAF) to help farmers in three southern states.

According to the inked memorandum of understanding, the bank would provide specialised services and facilities to farmers, agri-producers, and other rural groups.

Following the signing of the MoU, HDFC Bank will collaborate with LEAF Farmers Network across the LEAF operational areas of Andhra Pradesh, Karnataka, and Tamil Nadu.

“This agreement is signed to expand the financial accessibility and inclusivity of farmers and the scope of Farmer Producer Organisation ecosystem,” a press release said.

This agreement will assist four lakh farmers across three states.

Anil Bhavnani, senior executive vice president and Head of Rural Banking at HDFC Bank, exchanged paperwork with LEAF founder and CEO Palat Vijayaraghavan.

“Our partnership with LEAF will create great outcomes. It will improve and provide financial access and inclusion to the entire rural ecosystem, drive impact and create shared success,” Bhavnani said.
